Fundraiser for Free2Write Poetry Workshops at the Cambridge Women's Center
August 23rd-October 1st

The Cambridge Women's Center supports, educates and empowers women. Located in a welcoming, home-like environment, the Center provides learning opportunities, support groups, and resources that help women make positive, sustaining changes in their lives and the lives of their children. Free2Write will run classes with the CWC's "trauma recovery group" during the Fall of 2017.

August 5th-Women Artists and Writers: Compassion, Creativity, and Courage
Women Artists and Writers: Compassion, Creativity, and Courage is a fundraising exhibit sponsored by "The Compassion Anthology" to benefit Amirah, a refuge for women who want to break free from exploitation. 

Artwork will be on display and for sale from August 4 - September 2 at the Gallery at Porter Mill.

Opening night and the reception is Friday, August 5 from 6 PM - 9 PM in the gallery and features readings/performances by Laurette Folk, author of A Portal to Vibrancy and editor of The Compassion Anthology; Jennifer Jean, author of The Fool and founder of Free2Write; Jennifer Martelli, author of the Uncanny Valley; Colleen Michaels, director of the Improbable Places Poetry Tour; Cansu Bulgu, Los Angeles artist and mentor specializing in Transformative Sand Drawings; Olivia Cerrone, Pushcart Prize nominee and writing mentor for the Afghan Women’s Writing Project; and singer songwriter Rachel McCartney.

ArtSpeak: Imagine
March 5th, Sponsored by Highrock Church 

Artspeak is an art show, auction, and concert. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness about human-trafficking and to raise money for Amirah--a safe house for sex-trafficking survivors. Guest speakers include the Amirah house director and several residents reading poems from their recent Free2Write poetry workshop. All proceeds go to Amirah. "Artspeak stands on the side of hope in the belief that we have a voice in the fight against human-trafficking."
